An oasis for prayer

1995

COMMISSIONED BY RABBI ELYSE GOLDSTEIN • TORONTO ONTARIO

Rabbi Goldstein commissioned this special garment for her 40th birthday and especially for use on the Holy Days.

The actual prayer shawl is a narrower section attached to a larger garment.  Its theme is water – mayim chayim – shown in the waves of blue around the hem, the feel of luscious crepe de chine, and the sound of tiny hand-crafted brass bells.

Being on the bimah in public view, she is able flip the tallit over her head for personal prayer.

Please read more about the evolution of my prayer shawls specifically for women.
