Calligraphy on Meytal's banner by Laya Crust

The centre portion is the covering for the pillow on which Ofer’s circumcision and Meytal’s naming took place. Traditionally the baby’s swaddling is cut in strips to become a wimple. Here the cloth remains intact, and the blessing and child’s names are inscribed.

The style of Meytal's banner is inspired by two pieces in the Orphan Objects collection of the Amsterdam Jewish Museum.
