Women's Textiles Series of Beaded Mezuzah Case
Glass beads, copper staves
Woven and constructed
18 x 4 x 2 cm. (7" x 1.5" x .75")
Being a textile artist, it is natural to think of wrapping or enfolding. Just as a mother hugs her child, this mezuzah case embraces the mitzvah figuratively and literally.
Each mezuzah tells a unique story. This one, for example, is inspired by a Susani embroi-dery typically created by three generations of Bukharan women as part of a dowry.
Available for purchase.
