Sukkah Installation
A project of The Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Textiles
Many materials and techniques
244 x 244 x 244 (8' x 8' x 8')
It was my pleasure to be, not only a founder of this very vigorous Guild, but also the creator and coordinator of this, our first group project. The sukkah, literally "booth", is vital to the celebration of the autumn harvest festivals.
This sukkah was lovingly constructed by about 50 members working in total almost 5,000 hours. Groups worked on appliqué ban-ners, faux-finished wooden framework, needle-point frieze, baskets, table coverings, etrog boxes and stuffed fruits and vegetables.
