Window Panels for McDonald's

Thermal veil, anodized aluminum
3000 square feet
In collaboration with Bulow Fabrics
Commissioned by Jerome Markson Architects for a McDonald's restaurant in Toronto ON

The panels allow the people inside to see out, but preserve the dignity of this important institutional avenue by obscuring restaurant activities. The design is inspired by a combination of ikat weaving and the stock market report.

The 28, 21' high panels were fabricated by cutting slits in the non-fraying plasticized fabric, weaving through a composition of 14 colours of metal strips, and gluing them into place with industrial adhesive.
